In this web page you can find information on the teaching facilities of the Faculty of Chemistry. Some of these resources can be found in the Experimental Sciences Building, so they are shared with the Faculty of Biology and of Sea Sciences.

Own resources

There are 10 lecture rooms with 14 to 100 seat, depending on the room, in the Faculty. All of these count on a computer equipment and digital projection means for multimedia presentation. Their common use are lectures in big, medium and small groups. They are also used for exams and other written and oral tests, students presentations, conferences, projections, etc.

There are 18 teaching laboratories in the faculty, divided in the different departments, where students can develop their practical classes:

  • 5 Analytical Chemistry Laboratories
  • 4 Physical Chemistry Laboratories
  • 4 Inorganic Chemistry Laboratories
  • 4 Organic Chemistry Laboratories

There is a Computer room on the Faculty with 20 seats with a computer with Internet connection. It is used for the teaching of some subjects from different study plans of the Faculty. In the open access hours any student can used the facilities for working on assessments, exercises or programmed projects, or within their autonomous study activity.

In the ground floor of the Faculty there is a Videoconference room with 35 seats which enables the connection through internet with other rooms of the same kind. There is a XT 1200 multipoint system of RADVISION. This system enables two external simultaneous connections.

On the Lecture room 29, on the second floor of the E Block, there is on-site teaching of the Master’s Degree in Chemical Investigation Research and Industrial Chemistry and there is a second Videoconference equipment, mainly for teaching and administrative activities of this Master’s Degree.

In the space shared with the Faculty of Biology and of Sea Sciences in the Experimental Sciences Building, the Faculty of Chemistry has got an Assembly Hall with over 380 people capacity. It counts on cinema and video projection means and of sound amplification, as well as a computer equipment and analogue and digital projection means for multimedia presentations.

In the space shared with the Faculty of Biology and of Sea Sciences in the Experimental Sciences Building, the Faculty of Chemistry has got a Conference Room with over 69 armchair desks, presidential table and a lectern. There is a computer equipment and projection means for multimedia presentations. It is destined to conferences, projections, meetings and protocol ceremonies.

The Library of the Experimental Sciences Building, in an annex building, counts on a lecture room with over 220 individual seats and direct access to the bibliographic funds. Similarly, there are rooms to perform assessments in groups with 24 seats and internet access for users.

On the First Floor of the E Block, next to the concierge, there is the space of Support to Centres and Departments Area which performs administrative tasks related with the 3 centres and the 10 departments in the Experimental Sciences Building.

Other facilities and resources

Photocopy service

There is a photocopy service managed by an external company. It is open from 8.45 am to 1.30 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Cafeteria and canteen

There is a cafeteria and canteen service managed by an external company. During the academic year the cafeteria usually opens from 8:30 am to 8 pm and the canteen from 1 pm to 4 pm.
